Where would you most like to visit? As you design your own road trip across the country, you will have the opportunity to visit the region of your choice. Let's broaden our horizons and take an in-depth look at the regions that make up this incredible country.

Landscape Adjectives

Mountainous

Describes land where there are mountains.

Coastal

Land near the ocean where the climate is often wet and temporate.

Forested

A landscape that is covered in trees and woodlands.

Desertic

Land that is very dry and has few plants is desertic.

Flat

Land with no mountainous features. This may describe plains, prairies, or grasslands. 

The United States is a very large country (19 times the size of Spain).
The distinct regions have very different climates and geographic features.

Culture, history and language varies by region as well.

The Great American Road Trip

In the US, taking a road trip across the country is a sort of rite-of-passage. People get into their cars and drive for days or weeks across the country to visit the most famous landmarks.

Now, it's your turn to plan your dream American road trip!

Research

The first step of your project is to decide where you want to go.

Research the areas you are most interested in and choose three landmarks you will visit there.

Plan

The second step is to plan the route of your road trip. You can use Google Maps to plan how you will get from your starting point to the locations you will visit.

Present

The last step is to present your road trip plan to the class. You will need to describe the 3 landmarks you researched, tell us why you are interested, and show us how you will get there.
